EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
1975 / Naoi Déag Seachtó Cúig — Teac Damsa
Thursday 18, Friday 19, Saturday 20 June · 20:30 · Cork Opera House
Seven dancers, seven chairs, seven sharp suits. Michael Keegan-Dolan has set this 55-minute work to The Bothy Band's 1975 album, one of the defining recordings in the history of Irish traditional music, and the result is a piece that co-producers in Paris were prepared to attach their name to. The choreography moves from expressive freedom to reflective stillness, tracking the emotional terrain of the music rather than simply illustrating it.

Bell X1
Friday 19 June · 20:00 · Live at the Marquee
Bell X1 bring their current run to Live at the Marquee on Friday night, with BABYRAT opening. The Kildare band have been a fixture of Irish summers for two decades and the Marquee is still the right room for them. Gates open at 6pm

Other Mother + Bode Lash + Martina and The Moons
Thursday 18 June · 20:00 · Cyprus Avenue
Three acts on the one bill at Cyprus Avenue Thursday night. Other Mother, Bode Lash, and Martina and The Moons make for a strong triple header, and Cyprus Avenue suits a night like this.
Jenny Greene
Saturday 20 June · 20:00 · Connolly's Of Leap
Jenny Greene brings her live band to Connolly's of Leap on Saturday night. The Connolly's outdoor space on a June evening is one of those situations where you either commit or regret it later.
megaTRAD
Friday 19 June · 20:00 · Levis Corner House, Ballydehob
MegaTRAD at Levis Corner House in Ballydehob on Friday night. Levis is the kind of small-village pub that earns its own road trips; if you are heading out West for the weekend, this is the Friday evening sorted.
Scullion
Friday 19 June · IFI@BrieryGap, Macroom
Formed in the mid-1970s, Scullion is revered and feted as one of Ireland’s most innovative, original and brilliant live bands.

Constellations
Tuesday 16 June · 20:00 · Cork Arts Theatre
One couple, multiple parallel universes, the same scenes playing out differently each time. Nick Payne's Constellations has become something of a modern standard since its premiere, and Cork Arts Theatre is an appropriately intimate room for it.
0800 CUPID
Thursday 18 June · The Everyman
A romantic comedy at the Everyman as part of Cork Midsummer Festival. Check the Everyman website for showtimes and tickets.
Everyman Up Front
Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June · The Everyman
Three new Irish plays staged as readings on the Everyman forestage as part of Cork Midsummer Festival. Bob Kelly's Comrade (Saturday 1pm) traces Irish and Russian revolutionary history through friendship. Irene Kelleher's Something Borrowed (Saturday 4pm) is a wedding-day dark comedy. Tommy Harris's Double (Sunday 3:30pm) is a comedy-drama set in Cork in 1990. Tickets from €8 for one play to €15 for all three. A strong afternoon if you are in town over the weekend.
Fingerprints
Sunday 21 June · 14:00 · Triskel Arts Centre
A Cork Midsummer Festival event at Triskel on Sunday afternoon. Check the Triskel site for programme details.
Comedy Cavern: Test Tube Babies
Tuesday 16 June · 20:00 · Coughlan's
Test Tube Babies at Coughlan's for this week's Comedy Cavern. Tuesday night comedy in a room that suits it.

West Cork Reggae Fest Vol. 2
Sunday 21 June · 15:00 · Connolly's Of Leap
Eight acts and a reggae yoga opening ceremony at Connolly's of Leap from 3pm to 11pm on Sunday. The lineup includes DMAC Burns, Cian Finn, Wiggle, Blackturf, Ta Seti Sound, and Revelation Sound, hosted by DJ Gwada Mike. Family-friendly until 9pm. €25 tickets. Connolly's is one of the few venues in Ireland where an outdoor all-day of reggae in a West Cork garden actually makes sense; this is the second year they have tried it and it will be better for it.
F.l.i.r.t Presents: Pre-CMAT Boogaloo
Friday 19 June · 19:00 · The Pavilion
Pre-CMAT warmup event from F.l.i.r.t on Friday evening. Good option if you are heading to a CMAT show later or just want to start the Friday properly.
