EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

The House Must Win by Mick Flannery
Wednesday 6 May & Friday 8 May (and beyond - runs to 16 May)
The Everyman, Cork
Mick Flannery wrote the book, lyrics, and music - songs he originally composed as a college assignment 20 years ago, now expanded into a full musical. The show follows two brothers in 1970s west of Ireland, and it features Tommy Tiernan's first-ever role in musical theatre. Student tickets are €11. This is a world premiere; it's worth going before it travels. Book Tickets
Sambroso All Stars - The Buena Vista
Wednesday 6 May at Connolly's Of Leap, 8:00pm
Thursday 7 May at Cyprus Avenue, 7:00pm
A tribute to the Grammy-winning Buena Vista Social Club album, led by Sambroso Noda - described as the beating heart of London's Cuban community. Cuban son, Latin jazz, and rumba from Cuba's golden era, two nights running in two very different Cork venues.

Cork Fringe - Apocalypse How?
Friday 8 May. 7:00pm. Cork Arts Theatre, Carroll's Quay
Three performers as post-apocalyptic administrators - dark humour, queer themes, and speculative new writing in Cork Arts Theatre's small-stage format. Book tickets
Cork Fringe - Dyke on Dyke Road
Saturday 9 May. 8:00pm. Cork Arts Theatre, Carroll's Quay
A solo show tracing one West Cork woman's journey to Galway and the self-discovery that follows. Book tickets

Amélie - 25th Anniversary Screening
Wednesday 6 May. 7:30pm. Briery Gap, Main Street, Macroom
A special screening of Jean-Pierre Jeunet's legendary 2001 film, 25 years on. Briery Gap is a great spot for exactly this. If you’ve never seen the film it’s well worth heading along.
Darkness Into Light 2026
Saturday 9 May. 6:00am. Kinsale (with other events on throughout the city and county)
The annual Pieta House walk starts at 6am in Kinsale on Saturday, raising awareness and funds for suicide prevention. It’s an excellent cause and having attended these events before, I can say its well worth it.
Bike Week Cork 2026
Saturday 9 May onwards. Cork city and county
Over 300 free events across Cork city and county this weekend - guided cycles, social rides, workshops, and community routes. Get outside and enjoy one of the better free things to do in Cork this week.
