Cork's week opens with Freya Ridings at Cork Opera House and a run of classic and new releases at The Arc Cinema, before comedy takes over with Nish Kumar and Jarlath Regan.
The weekend fills out with ØXN at the Savoy Theatre, the Craic On: Bantry Singles Festival across West Cork, and two days of talks and workshops at Cork Mind Body Experience.

Freya Ridings
Tuesday 8 September · 8:00pm · Cork Opera House
The English singer-songwriter's Mother of Pearl tour reaches Cork on the back of two UK Top 10 albums and the near half a billion streams built up by "Lost Without You." She picked up a BRIT nomination for Best Female Solo Artist and has a third album due next year.
Nish Kumar: Angry Humour From a Really Nice Guy

Political comedian and Pod Save the UK co-host Nish Kumar turns forty on this tour, mixing existential worry with his usual read on politics. He previously hosted BBC's The Mash Report and has been named among the fifty best comedians of the century.
ØXN
Saturday 12 September · 8:30pm · Savoy Theatre
Members of Lankum, Percolator and Katie Kim make up this doom-folk project, whose 2023 debut CYRM earned a Guardian Folk Album of the Month and a run of five-star reviews. The set sits somewhere between traditional song and something totally unique.
SOS Eire: Jake Fitz (Cork Freshers)

Jake Fitz headlines this freshers week date, joined by Jamie Hayes and Andrew McCarthy for a night timed to the start of the new college term.
The Irish of Brittany
Thursday 10 September · 7:00pm · Cyprus Avenue
Véronique Bourjot, Brewen Favrau, Soazig Hamelin and Kevin Le Pennec trace the migration of Irish settlers to Brittany during the 17th and 18th centuries, through a mix of vocals, flutes, uilleann pipes, Breton bagpipes, violin and lever harp.
Wallis Bird
Thursday 10 September · 8:00pm · The White Horse, Ballincollig
Bird's new album, I Can See Your House From Here, is the first she has produced entirely herself. Written between October 2023 and December 2025, it was shaped by the Gaza crisis and the death of a close friend, with her partner Tracey Kelliher and musicians Aidan Floatinghome and Sam Vance-Law featuring on the record.
The Watermelons
Thursday 10 September · 11:30pm · Crane Lane Theatre
The four-piece blues band, drawing on Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, the Allman Brothers and Jimi Hendrix, combine drums, bass, guitar and sax in a set that runs from Chicago blues through to blues rock.
The Jazz Room: A Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong Tribute
Friday 11 September · 6:30pm · The Pavilion
A live band reinterprets the catalogues of Sinatra and Armstrong for an evening centred on two of jazz and swing's most enduring voices.
Nirvana Tribute
Friday 11 September · 7:00pm · Cyprus Avenue
A tribute act runs through Nirvana's catalogue, with Loudwire Magazine praising the frontman for capturing "the spirit of Kurt Cobain" on stage.
Aja: A Tribute to Steely Dan

A one-off show covering more than two hours of Steely Dan's back catalogue.

Seven-piece self-styled "groove masters" mix soul, funk, jazz and blues with a horn section, having previously appeared at Waterford Spraoi and the Guinness Jazz Festival.
Nightdress

The Cork four-piece build an indie folk sound described as somewhere between the grit of Radiohead and the vulnerability of Big Thief, driven by emotion and storytelling.

A documentary on the Dublin artist's path from the anarchic post-punk scene of the late 1970s to a solitary studio practice, with interviews from lifelong friends Bono and Gavin Friday alongside reflections on his influence on contemporary Irish art.
Exhibition: Room Innate by Danny Foley

Danny Foley combines painting, moving image, archival footage and sculpture to explore identity, play, vulnerability and what the gallery calls "the unfinished self."
Six Months in a Pink and Blue Building

Screening as part of the Priosma Queer Film Festival, this Mexican drama follows Bruno on the day he turns eleven, as his feelings for his best friend collide with his father's HIV diagnosis, told through salsa-inflected family drama.
Love Your Vulva Live

Laura Dowling, pharmacist and women's health advocate, hosts a stage show mixing candid talk on women's health and wellbeing with a pelvic health physiotherapist, a comedian, a sexologist, a skincare expert and a drag performer.
Jarlath Regan: Gas Man

The comedian, known for his Instagram and TikTok work, brings ninety minutes of new, previously unseen stand-up drawn from his own stories and observations.
Clothes Cycle Cork

More than 100 vintage and preloved sellers fill the market alongside a clothes swap, an alterations station, DJ sets and food stalls, with pop-up permanent jewellery, tooth gems and tattoos among the extras.
Cork Mind Body Experience
Saturday 12 to Sunday 13 September · 10:00am to 7:00pm · Cork City Hall
Ireland's largest holistic event fills City Hall for two days with around 100 exhibitors and a hundred talks, workshops and classes, spanning the Mind Body Soul Expo, a yoga and meditation festival, Conscious Life Cork, the Cork Psychic Fair and the Live Well programme.
